Coral Jade & Red Garnet Pendant — Reyne Trevi Designs

A one-of-a-kind artisan pendant inspired by the ancient relationship between earth, ocean, stone and spirit.

At the center is a beautifully patterned piece of fossilized coral, preserved in stone and framed in a handcrafted silver-toned setting. The delicate organic pattern visible throughout the coral is a reminder that this material began as a living marine organism in an ancient ocean long before the landscapes we know today existed.

The exact age of fossilized coral depends on its geological origin. Fossil corals from the Devonian Period, for example, can date back approximately 380 million years, giving pieces from this geological era an extraordinary connection to Earth's deep history. 

A deep red garnet cabochon is set beneath the coral, adding a rich contrast to the pale fossil material. Garnet is a natural mineral group with several red varieties, including pyrope, almandine and rhodolite.

The reverse of the pendant is finished with a distressed natural leather backing, intentionally retaining its weathered texture and organic character. The leather's aged surface complements the ancient fossil material and gives the piece a distinctly earthy, Southwestern character.

Suspended from a long leather cord, this pendant is designed to be worn as a statement piece while carrying a story of ancient oceans, geological transformation and handcrafted art.

Each piece is individually crafted and naturally unique. Variations in color, texture, fossil pattern and stone are part of the character of the materials.
